SunPro K, high efficient keratinase specially developed for feather meal.

Feather meal is a byproduct of poultry industry, which contains more than 90% keratin. However, keratin is an insoluble protein and resistant to degradation by common peptidases, such as trypsin, pepsin, and papain due to the constituent amino acids composition and rigidity structure. The mechanical stability of keratin and its resistance to biochemical degradation result in poor digestibility. Sunpro K, a newly developed keratinase used to hydrolyze feather meal and thus improve the bioavailability of feather meal.

Benefits

SunPro K can hydrolyze a variety of protein substrates, including soluble and insoluble proteins. Keratinase can degrade soluble proteins such as casein, gelatin and bovine serum albumin. It can also degrade insoluble proteins including feathers, wool, keratin, human hair and nails. The application of SunPro K can improve digestibility of dietary protein and feed utilization, and promote animal growth performance.
